The Carnelian Hotel: Naples Luxury’s Next Masterpiece Designed by Phil McCabe

The Carnelian Hotel, set to replace the longtime Beacon Bowl in North Naples, is shaping up to be Phil McCabe’s next masterpiece in luxury hospitality. This ambitious project, which McCabe and his sons Philip and Joseph are developing through their Naples-based Gulf Coast Commercial Corp., aims to redefine upscale lodging and dining in the area. Key features of The Carnelian Hotel include:

Two public restaurants: The ground floor will house two high-end dining venues, spanning 6,000 and 8,000 square feet, respectively. While the specific brands have not been announced, the McCabes are attracting national-level restaurant operators.

Exclusive suites: The 70-suite hotel will occupy the third, fourth, and fifth floors, offering luxurious accommodations.

Sterling’s private club will be located on the sixth floor and will be a members-only, exclusive club with influences from prestigious social clubs in London. It will feature a club lounge, dining room, bar, cigar lounge, and covered terraces with Gulf views.

Wellness center: The second floor will house a 10,000-square-foot wellness club and spa, along with offices, meeting rooms, and a ballroom.

Prime location: Situated across from Waterside Shops and a short distance from the beach, the hotel will offer concierge shuttles to nearby attractions

The Carnelian’s design draws inspiration from the deep red-orange carnelian gemstone, symbolizing luxury, warmth, and sophistication. This color theme will be incorporated throughout the hotel’s decor and actual carnelian stones will be used in guest rooms and common areas.Phil McCabe envisions The Carnelian as a unique blend of luxury and intimacy, describing it as “luxury bed and breakfast” on a different level. The project aims to introduce a new form of hospitality to Naples, combining the glamour of a London city social club with the lifestyle amenities of a New York athletic club. With its innovative concept, prime location, and luxurious amenities, The Carnelian Hotel is poised to become a standout addition to Naples’ hospitality scene when it opens in early 2026.
