Reader’s Digest considers this Collier beach to be among the best in Florida.

The popular magazine Reader’s Digest published an article in February titled “15 Best Beaches in Florida Locals Want to Keep Secret,” which included a number of South Florida beaches.

Tigertail Beach on Marco Island is one Collier County beach that made the cut, according to a recent article by Kendall Little of Naples Daily News.

What was said about Tigertail Beach in Reader’s Digest?
Best for: Swimming and bird-watching

Is this the beach you might wonder about as you pull your car into the parking lot and begin to stroll toward the water ahead of you? While the area you observe from the parking lot may seem like “a beach,” it’s really just a huge lagoon teeming with birds and tidal pools. Indeed, a large number of individuals camp out there! However, the main treat is three miles of soft, wide sand, complete with fiddler crabs and stunning migratory shorebirds. You’ll have to wade into the lagoon for a short while, depending on the tide.

How ‘Best Florida Beaches’ were selected by Reader’s Digest
“We paddleboarded and explored our way across the Sunshine State to bring you this list of hidden finds,” the author stated. “In addition, we searched TripAdvisor and spoke with locals and travel experts in Florida to identify not only the best beaches but also the best places to stay and activities to do there.”

The Reader’s Digest article states that Florida has one of the country’s longest coastlines—1,350 miles of views of the ocean, second only to Alaska.
