Naples Zoo upgrades for $14 million

The Naples Zoo is suddenly a little bit different. The Jeanne Guglielmi Welcome Center is a brand-new structure where guests purchase tickets.

On March 7, a single visitor was James Fodera.

“Last time we were here was two years ago,” he stated.

Alligator Bay, a gift shop, a welcome center, and a new flamingo exhibit have been added to the Zoo since then. According to Fodera, everything is lovely and was a lovely surprise.

The president of the Zoo is Jack Mulvena, according to a recent article by Dominga Murray of Fox4.

Collier County funded $1.3 million of the $2.6 million parking lot. Mulvena stated, “Florida Power & Light Co.’s Solar Now program installed a fantastic new solar canopy.”

In honor of former governor and first lady Rick and Ann Scott, the new flamingo enclosure bears their names.

“I had mentioned to Jack, I had thought it might be fun to name some of the flamingos after my grandchildren, and they surprised me and said they are going to name them after the them,” Ann Scott stated.

In honor of Scott’s current position, one of the flamingos will be dubbed “The Senator.”

Mulvena said that in order to accommodate its approximately 400,000 visitors a year, the zoo will soon have new dining options, displays, and improvements.
