Naples restaurant seen Update
Here is a quick update on the restaurant scene in Naples. The ever changing landscape for restaurants has 2 new stores, one reopen from the hurricane and a big buyout of four restaurants
Pho An serves Vietnamese food
Late in June, Pho An was launched by sisters-in-law Hanh Nguyen and Thuong Pham, who also serves as chef. They are from the Vietnamese beach vacation town of Nha Trang. This is their debut restaurant, and on a Saturday afternoon, it was packed. Since there are not many Vietnamese options in Naples its is we are pulling for them,
Priced at $7.50 for appetizers, $8.50 for banh mi sandwiches, and $16.50 and $17.50 for pho, bun, and rice platters, respectively. Pho An’s special, $17.50, includes cuts of flank, steak, brisket, and meatballs.
Hours: Friday and Saturday until 9 p.m.; Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Oahu Fresh Bowls
When Oahu Fresh Bowls opens in Naples in the Marquesa Plaza on July 21, famed restaurateur Mike Cardascia of Zen Asian BBQ will give the first 50 customers a free normal acai bowl each month for a year. This concept originated from a food truck in Hawaii and is making its debut in the States. Serving Poké bowls with sushi-grade fish, customizable acai soft serve , boba tea and smoothies are on the menu. Even a poké burrito with “Flaming Hot Cheetos” is available.
BALEENS, LaPlaya Beach & Resort
Since Hurricane Ian hit the Southwest Florida coast on September 28th, the well-known eatery had been shuttered for almost ten months. The restaurant has been updated, and a new menu is available. You can expect the restaurant to open next week as early as monday.
Culinary Concepts owner of 4 restaurants sells to Phelan Family
Phelan Family Brands has acquired four restaurants from Culinary Concepts: Pazzo! Italian Cafe, Chops City Grill of Naples, Chops City Grill of Bonita and Yabba Island Grill. Founded in 1997, the local family-owned and operated Phelan enterprise includes brands Pinchers, Deep Lagoon Seafood, Texas Tony’s Rib & Brewhouse, The Bay House, CJ’s on the Bay, Phuzzy’s Boat Shack and Two Fillets.
The Phelan family announce that the will be changing the concept of Yabba Island Grill to “Keewaydin’s.” The new concept is best described as “Tommy Bahama-esque” vibe.
