Naples names a new chief of police
There’s a new chief in Naples. Ciro Dominguez was named the City of Naples Police Department’s next head of police.
Following a four-month search that yielded 175 candidates, a choice was made.
Dominguez has worked as a law enforcement officer for 38 years. He started working for the Naples Police Department in 1982, according to a Naples news release and Tyler Watkins of NBC2.
By 1992, he had risen from police officer to sergeant in the department’s hierarchy. From there, he spent 11 years in a leadership position with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE).
At the Hillsborough County Aviation Authority, Dominguez later held the position of deputy chief of police. He was a colonel when he retired from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
As a result of his recent promotion, Dominguez will now be a part of Naples’ senior management group.
On October 16, Dominguez will assume the position.
