Naples man makes the 2023 list of Top IRS Cases by hiding millions

Every year, the IRS publishes a list of the top ten cases from that year. They vary from fraud to tax evasion, according to a recent article by Kendall Little of Naples Daily News.

Last year, Mark Anthony Gyetvay, a resident of Naples, made the list. This is what we know about his case.

Who is Mark Anthony Gyetvay and what did he do?
Gyetvay was the former chief financial officer of Novatek, a Russian natural gas firm. He has a home in Pelican Bay and is a CPA.

The Naples businessman was sentenced to 86 months in prison for concealing millions in undeclared Swiss bank accounts while employed at Novatek. Gyetvay also made a fake IRS file.

Gyetvay was also sentenced to three years of supervised release, a $350,000 fine, and more than $4 million in compensation to the United States.
