Naples’ lowest-paying jobs
Even though the United States is one of the richest nations in the world, there is still widespread financial disparity. Particularly between the poorest and richest Americans, that gap is widening.
The middle class is getting smaller. Compared to the 1970s, when 61% of persons lived in middle-class households, only 50% did so in 2021. Due to this decline, some middle-class persons now have high incomes. The proportion of residents with lower incomes is increasing at the same time; in 2021, 29% of adults lived in low-income homes, up from 25% in 1971, according to a recent article by Stacker.
All income levels saw increases in wages during this time, although the wealthy saw substantially larger increases. According to Pew Charitable Trusts, during the previous 50 years, elite earnings have grown by 69% while poor incomes have only increased by 45%. These severe financial deficits were worsened and made even more obvious by the COVID-19 epidemic.
Last year, there was a salary gap of more than eight times between the highest- and lowest-paying jobs in the US, ranging from about $251,000 for doctors to roughly $28,000 for entertainment attendants. The majority of the lowest-paying employment in the country are in the leisure and hospitality industries. Consider people who work in restaurants, hotels, recreational facilities like swimming pools and theme parks, as well as other service positions.
Stacker identified Naples’ 50 lowest-paying jobs using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. According to the median yearly salary as of May 2022, jobs are ranked. Jobs without valid yearly compensation information were not included in this research.
