Collier County Set to Get Its First Diverging Diamond Interchange

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is preparing to launch construction this spring on a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) at Interstate 75 and Pine Ridge Road–marking Collier County’s first and only the second in Southwest Florida, according to a recent article by Mark H. Bickel of Naples Daily News.

Lee County’s inaugural DDI, located at I-75 and Colonial Boulevard in Fort Myers, is nearing completion. Meanwhile, FDOT District One will host a Pre-Construction Information Session for the upcoming Pine Ridge Road project.

The session will be held as an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at North Collier Regional Park Exhibit Hall, Room A (15000 Livingston Road).

The new interchange aims to significantly reduce delays on Pine Ridge Road while improving safety by decreasing conflict points. Additionally, the DDI design allows for future traffic growth, enhancing long-term infrastructure capacity.

This project is part of the Moving Florida Forward Infrastructure Initiative. FDOT encourages public participation and ensures accessibility for all attendees. Anyone needing special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or requiring translation services can contact Cynthia Sykes, FDOT District One Title VI Coordinator, at (863) 519-2287 or via email at Cynthia.Sykes@dot.state.fl.us at least seven days before the meeting.
