Active investigation after human remains found in Collier County
COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies are investigating after human remains were found and reported Saturday off US 41 in Collier County.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Department (CCSO), deputies responded to a 911 call after human remains were found in the area near US 41 and Barefoot Williams Road on Dec. 16.
There was a heavy police presence, and crime unit investigators are currently on the scene.CCSO said nothing indicates the investigation is suspicious at this time.

One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Livingston Road approaching Immokalee Road. A Jeep traveling north lost control, crossed the grass median, and overturned in the southbound lanes, colliding with a car going south. The details of the crash are under investigation.

A stabbing occurred behind a Walmart liquor store on Immokalee Road. Two people were taken to the hospital, and no arrests have been made at this time.

A Thursday morning crash involving three vehicles left a Naples man dead, Florida Highway Patrol reports
Troopers said a 43-year-old Naples man was driving his SUV north on County Road 881, also known as Livingston Road, north of Carton Lakes Boulevard about 7:43 a.m.
Another SUV and a sedan were headed south when the initial SUV attempted to change lane and lost control, troopers said. It overturned in the path of the second SUV, injuring that driver, an 18-year-old Naples man, and a passenger, a 67-year-old Naples man. The 43-year-old Naples man died on scene.
The sedan, driven by a 37-year-old Naples woman, hit the second SUV. Troopers said she was not injured.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.

A 16-year-old girl named Nea Jane Brammer went missing from her home on 101st Avenue. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating her.
