Construction has begun on The Teale – Golden Gate, a new residential community in Golden Gate.

A new housing community has officially broken ground on Golden Gate Parkway in Collier County as of Tuesday morning, according to a recent article by Zach Scott of Gulf Coast ABC.

The project, developed by STYXCO and DeAngelis Diamond, is designed to provide high-quality workforce housing to address the increasing demand for affordable living options.

Located at 4100 Golden Gate Parkway, The Teale – Golden Gate will transform the former Quality Inn and Suites Golf Resort into a residential complex. The development will feature 215 studio apartments, with 22.8% designated for residents earning between 80% and 100% of the area’s median income. All units will be priced according to HUD’s workforce housing rent limits.

Ryan Hyler, a partner at STYXCO, expressed enthusiasm about the project, stating, “We’re excited to begin renovations and expansions to bring much-needed workforce housing to the greater Naples area. Our collaboration with Collier County leaders and the community has been rewarding, and we look forward to continuing these partnerships as the project progresses.”

With one-bedroom rentals in Collier County averaging around $2,000 per month, The Teale – Golden Gate will offer more affordable options, with studio apartments priced between $1,349 and $1,399 per month.

Julie Tuttle, a partner at Styx Companies, highlighted the project’s goal of offering meaningful savings: “We want to provide a noticeable price difference between our studio units and standard one-bedroom rentals, so residents can keep more money in their pockets and build their savings.”

Unlike many affordable housing developments that are farther inland in Immokalee, this project offers a more central location in Golden Gate with convenient access to I-75, making it a practical choice for commuters.

Collier County Commissioner Daniel Kowal emphasized the importance of the development, stating, “Our priority has been to increase affordable workforce housing in Collier County to help retain employees who work here but struggle to afford living in the area.”

Residents of The Teale – Golden Gate will have access to various amenities, including a clubhouse, business center, on-site laundry, dog grooming stations, and a yoga studio.

Some units are expected to be ready for occupancy by the summer.
