Collier County’s water and sewer district will raise utility rates
In February, utility bills for residents in Collier County will increase.
Beginning on January 1, the Collier County Water Sewer District will charge different rates for water, wastewater, irrigation-quality water, and wholesale potable water services.
The increase will be 9% for water, 9.5% for sewer, and 9.5% for irrigation-quality water and will be included in the February bill.
Collier County claims that these modifications are the result of increased maintenance and operation expenses, according to a recent article by Mariana Ortiz of NBC2.
Residential users will pay $50.43 for water service, an increase of $4.18 per month, if they have a three-quarter-inch meter and use five thousand gallons of water.
Sewer service will cost $78.22 per month for residential users with a three-quarter-inch meter and 5,000 gallons of usage, an increase of $6.78.
