Collier County School Board adopts next-year boundary adjustments.

Members of the Collier County School Board have voted to alter the boundary lines for the upcoming school year.

The Attendance Boundary Review Team considered various factors, including the importance of maintaining cohesive neighborhoods, minimizing the impact on students, evaluating the time and distance of existing and proposed bus routes, ensuring fiscal responsibility, incorporating community feedback, and adhering to School Board policy, as stated by the district.

Two proposals were presented, and a decision was made on one Tuesday morning, according to a recent article by Kaitlin Knapp of FOX4.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOLS:

Bear Creek Elementary, the newly established school, features a revised boundary aimed at addressing capacity challenges at Laurel Oak Elementary.
Minor changes were made for schools located west of I-75. The attendance zones for Naples Park Elementary and Veterans Memorial Elementary schools remained unaffected.

MIDDLE SCHOOLS:

The district stated that the proposed adjustments aim exclusively to tackle capacity issues and to prepare for expected future growth.

HIGH SCHOOLS:

Attendance boundaries were modified to accommodate future growth and improve alignment within feeder patterns.

The new boundaries will be implemented in the upcoming school year.
