Dining Scene Shakeup: Closures, Openings, and New Ventures in Naples

The Naples dining landscape is undergoing a series of changes, with some beloved establishments closing their doors, while others are gearing up to open and introduce new concepts to the area.

Closures

KJ Sushi & Asian Bistro, a popular sushi and Asian fusion restaurant on Fifth Avenue South, is set to close its doors on June 23rd. The establishment has been a staple in the Naples dining scene for several years, known for its creative menu and vibrant atmosphere.

Another casualty is Pizzata Pizzeria, which closed on June 9th. Owner Lubrano Lavadera cited the “complicated decision to sell and focus our energy up north with bigger projects” as the reason behind the closure. Pizzata had garnered a loyal following for its authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas and cozy ambiance.

The longstanding Old Naples Pub also bid farewell after 34 years of operation, with its last day being May 31st. The pub was a beloved gathering spot for locals and visitors alike, known for its lively atmosphere and classic American fare.

Openings and New Ventures

Despite the closures, the Naples dining scene is set to welcome some exciting new additions.

Sunshine Ace Hardware is preparing to open a new store at Pelican Bay, catering to the hardware and home improvement needs of residents in the area.

In North Naples, a new hotel development is underway across U.S. 41 from Waterside Shops, promising to be a luxurious destination for both locals and visitors. The project will feature two upscale restaurants flanking the central lobby, offering the public a chance to experience the culinary offerings within the otherwise private boutique hotel and club.

Additionally, the Beacon Bowl, a longtime bowling alley in the area, is set to close in August to make way for this new development, marking the end of an era for many Naples residents.

As the dining and retail landscape continues to evolve, Naples residents and visitors can look forward to a diverse array of new offerings, while bidding farewell to some beloved establishments that have left an indelible mark on the community.
