Warning against phone scammers: Naples Police

The Naples Police Department warns residents to be on the lookout for fraudsters calling posing as Naples Police.

According to officials, the thieves also pose as Lt. Kyle Bennet, according to a recent article by Bridgette Seale of NBC2.

They accuse innocent people of missing court or having an outstanding warrant, threatening them.

According to authorities, criminals are threatening to arrest residents unless they pay a fine.

When making an arrest, the Naples Police Department claims they never call or demand payment to dismiss charges.

Authorities warn that these scammers are imitating Naples Police caller ID with technology to make their impersonation appear honest.

Hang up right away if they claim you owe money and you’re not sure; it’s likely a scam.
