Alamo Drafthouse Cinema opening first theater in Florida in Naples at Mercato

The first Alamo Drafthouse Cinema to open in Florida will soon be located in Naples.
The movie dining company from Austin, Texas, announced on July 24 what had been rumored for weeks: it will take Silverspot’s place at Mercato in North Naples, accoring to a recent article by Dave Osborn of Naples Daily News.
In a news release, Alamo Drafthouse CEO Michael Kusterman remarked, “We’re really excited not only to provide a great cinema experience for the area, but to introduce everything that makes us different from other theaters in the Sunshine State.”
Here are five important things.
When does the new theater debut?
Officials of Alamo Drafthouse aim to launch in early 2024 after converting the location that Silverspot has inhabited since 2009. A year after Mercato started, Silverspot stated on July 12 that it would close on July 23.
The news release stated that the theater would receive updates such as “premium, reclining leather seats, a revamped bar experience, and a theme celebrating cinema’s greatest golf films.”
The Naples location will have 33,652 square feet of space and 11 auditoriums with upgrades including 4K digital projection and about 650 recently installed luxury reclining seats. A parking deck located behind the theater will offer free, convenient parking.
There are 39 Alamo Drafthouse sites spread over 12 states.
Policy of “No Talking/No Texting”
The “No Talking/No Texting” rule at Alamo Drafthouse is well-known for guaranteeing that viewers can enjoy movies without irritating interruptions. How does it function? If they disobey the regulations again, they will only receive one warning before being kicked out of the theater without a refund.
Additionally, visitors are urged to arrive up to 30 minutes early to see movies for an ad-free preshow featuring humorous clips, educational video essays, and more.
Creating a memorable moment
Tim and Karrie League, the company’s founders, established Alamo Drafthouse in 1997 with the intention of building what they would like to see in a theater when they went there.
Moviegoers now anticipate more from their cinema visits due to the growing popularity of streaming, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic. With themed drinks and unique events like Champagne Cinema and Weird Wednesday, Alamo Drafthouse focuses on that.
Additionally, a recent “Barbie” movie party in Austin demonstrated how the Alamo Drafthouse likes to “eventize” movie screenings, as guests and staff alike dressed up.

Adam Schwegman, executive vice president at Atlanta-based North American Properties, which oversees Mercato, said that Alamo will bring a special arthouse experience to Naples and set it apart from other theaters in Southwest Florida.
The company takes pleasure in catering to cinephiles while incorporating fun into the movie-going experience.
What to eat and drink?
Locations of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema feature a selection of meals, beverages, and snacks.
Along with individual meals like burgers and fries, Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas also sell a range of delicacies that can be shared. Regarding beverages, establishments sell regional craft beers and also make cocktails.
According to the press announcement, “like all Alamo Drafthouse theaters, the new Naples location will offer a scratch-made food menu, local beers on draft, and craft cocktails brought to guests in their seats by stealthy servers trained to not disturb the movie experience.”
“Drafthouse is in the name for a reason, and visitors will be able to enjoy a cold beverage and conversing with other movie enthusiasts at the theater’s solitary bar before and after watching a film. The bar will be equipped to hold small gatherings, parties, and films, offer dozens of beers on tap, and serve craft cocktails.

The Alamo Drafthouse gives white slips of paper called “Order Cards” or “Flags” and a tiny golf pen with each ticket purchase.
“Just write down your order while the movie is playing, stand it up in the clip at the head of the table. The paper then serves as a flag to attract your server’s attention, according to the business website. “With the speed and agility of a trained ninja, he or she will then crouch down in front of everyone else and take your order without saying a word.
