A Word from Mayor Heitmann
Dear City of Naples Community,
I hope this message finds you in good health and spirits. As we approach the one-year mark since Hurricane Ian’s devastating impact on our community, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible strength and resilience that you, our residents, have shown throughout this challenging time.
Hurricane Ian brought about catastrophic damage to our homes, businesses, and left a lasting mark on our beloved pier and beach accesses. The path to recovery has been a long and arduous one, and I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your patience, understanding, and unwavering support.
Our dedicated staff has been working diligently to rebuild our beach ends and pier, and we’ve made significant progress. However, there is still work to be done, and we remain committed to restoring these essential community landmarks.
In the interest of safety, our staff has also been busy constructing temporary accesses to our beaches. These temporary measures are in place to ensure the safety of our residents and visitors. Regrettably, a few of our access points sustained substantial damage and will need to remain closed until they can be safely reopened.
Please take a moment to review the information (Click Here) for details on these temporary accesses and the status of those that must remain closed. We will continue to provide updates on our progress and any further developments in the coming months.
Thank you once again for your resilience and community spirit as we navigate these challenges together. Together, we will rebuild and emerge stronger than ever.
