A new flight is launching this week at Punta Gorda Airport (PGD), with Allegiant Air beginning service to Chattanooga, Tennessee, on February 13, according to a recent article by Elizabeth King of Business Observer.

Allegiant, a Las Vegas-based airline, first announced the route in November as part of a broader expansion adding 44 new nonstop flights nationwide. The airline focuses on connecting travelers between small and midsized cities. From PGD, passengers can also fly to other Tennessee destinations, including Nashville and Knoxville.

Currently, PGD offers more than 50 flights operated by Allegiant Air and Sun Country. In 2024, the airport handled nearly 1.93 million passengers, reflecting a 1.23% increase from 2023.
