Four possible Collier sites are found in a study by the Naples Florida Airport Authority.

The Naples Airport Authority has given the go-ahead for a feasibility study to look into moving the Naples Airport to East Collier County. The study will look for possible locations, figure out how much they would cost, and see if it makes sense to keep the airport where it is now. The study will look at about 4 possible places in East Collier County for a new airport. No specific spots have been named yet.
After years of noise complaints from nearby neighborhoods and a recent noise study, the choice to look into moving came about. Residents of Naples might not have to deal with as much noise if the airport was moved farther east. But the study will also look at how the airport affects the local business. In 2022, the airport brought in $780 million for the area.
It’s not the first time that the Naples Airport Authority has thought about moving. In the 1990s, a similar study said that a new airport would cost $100 million. Because of the high cost, lawmakers gave up on those plans. Environmental Science Associates is doing a feasibility study that will likely be finished in 2024. It cost $438,321.
The Naples Airport Authority owns and runs the airport. It is not the same as the Collier County Airport Authority, which runs three other general aviation sites in the county. Collier County and landowners in the eastern part of the county would have to be consulted about any possible move.
