FDOT to host Southwest Connect I-75 South Corridor Master Plan public outreach meeting – I-75 from SR 951 (Collier Boulevard) in Collier County to SR 78 (Bayshore Road) in Lee County

The Southwest ConnectTM I-75 South Corridor Master Plan from SR 951 (Collier Boulevard) in Collier County to SR 78 (Bayshore Road) in Lee County is being discussed at an FDOT District One Public Outreach Meeting.
The materials from the meeting will also be online HERE from Monday, February 13 through Monday, February 27. The materials for the online public outreach meeting include a virtual tour with multiple interactive stations that use video and other static displays to introduce the project and study process, show information about the current situation, and get feedback. The materials and information shared at the open-house meeting in person will be the same as those shared during the online meeting.

Also, on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 6 p.m., FDOT will hold an ONLINE LIVE Question and Answer (Q&A) Event. Sign up HERE for the online Q&A event.

FDOT is looking at the problems with transportation on the interstate system right now. In a Master Plan, the results of the analysis and suggestions for making the area safer and easier to get around are written down. The Master Plan may list widening, managed lanes, changing interchanges, or evaluating new interchanges as planned improvements. This kind of public outreach will be part of the Master Plan, and it will be used to find and rank projects that will move forward into the Project Development Process. This project is at the start of the process, in the Planning and Feasibility Phase. This long-term approach uses a regional view to find the places where demand is expected to grow in the future. This Master Plan will be a guide that will help FDOT put its future efforts and money on the most important things first.
