16 Gulf Coast companies make Inc.’s 2024 Best Workplaces.
According to Inc., more than a dozen enterprises on Florida’s Gulf Coast rank among the top 543 places to work in the country. The magazine just published its Best Workplaces of 2024 list, which included firms from Tampa to Naples who engage with their employees in a number of ways.
Clearwater-based IT services firm Source 1 Solutions provides lunch to employees who attend “lunch and learn” training sessions, which are also filmed for future reference, according to a recent article by Elizabeth King of Business Observer.
AccountingDepartment.com of Naples, which provides bookkeeping services to entrepreneurs, has a completely remote workforce but makes its members feel part of the culture by beginning all meetings with “water cooler chats,” according to Inc. It also encourages employees to use personal time and provides free PTO for charity activities.
S-One Holdings of Sarasota, which specializes in the digital imaging sector, enriches employees through its continuous education program, S-One University, and offers CliftonStrengths assessment to help employees understand themselves.

Companies had to apply to be on the list, submitting information such as their founding date and the number of employees.
Then, HR technology company Quantum Workplace gathered the benefits offered by each organization and questioned employees to determine their level of engagement with their work, team, and employer. Companies have to receive a minimum score on benefits and employee surveys in order to be included in the Best Workplaces list. In terms of benefits, Inc. reports that all of the companies on the top workplaces list provide health insurance.
According to the magazine, Inc.’s research team vetted organizations on the list to ensure they did not have an “unsavory history,” such as being accused of fraud.
To reach the list, companies must be independent and not subsidiaries, have less than $1 billion in annual revenue, have at least five employees, and have been in operation for at least two years, among other criteria.
