JetBlue is expanding in Florida, including Fort Myers.
Is it too early to discuss the season in Southwest Florida? Not if you are a commercial airline planning forward and developing new routes from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers.
In the last month, several airlines have announced new routes to and from Fort Myers, the most recent being JetBlue on Wednesday (July 24).
JetBlue said on its website that it is expanding its service and introducing new routes to link more New Englanders to the premium leisure locations they want. One of these locations is Southwest Florida, where tourists and snowbirds spend the winter in Fort Myers, Naples, and Cape Coral, according to a recent article by Mark H. Bickel of Naples Daily News.
What new routes is JetBlue adding to RSW in Fort Myers?
This winter, the airline plans to add an average of 18 new daily departures from New England, as well as six new routes between New England and Florida. Two of these lines will connect with RSW in Fort Myers.
Providence, Rhode Island (PVD): One-time daily service begins on October 27. It is classified as winter seasonal.
Manchester, New Hampshire (MHT) – Service begins on January 23, 2024, three times per week. It is classified as winter seasonal.
